A single stone
by Meg Mckinlay

A single stone by Meg Mckinlay is very good, if somewhat dark. The protagonist, Jena's, past is shrouded in mystery and pain, but now she lives the common life of a villager, although she is the leader of the line. With winter fast approaching, and a harvest needed, she begins to see beneath the calm of life, and into the dark world of The Mothers.

This book is so good so far. I only got through chapter one and so much has happened. I like how it foreshadows the conflict in the beginning because it makes it interesting and more fun to read and it gives you an idea of the struggle Raina has to go through. It really makes me want to keep on reading and reading. I like how this book is a little relatable too because once a change happens its hard to adjust to, especially when people keep nagging you about it. That is what I think of the story so far.

This book is really good. It talks about depression but does so in a non depressing way. It really makes you realise how suicide effects people you wouldn't even think it would.
